Nothing Goes As Planned

It seems to be my luck over the last 6 months, that any ideas I have, or plans, never goes as planned. God gifts me great ideas but decides that I need to learn the long or hard way.
Today's continued frustration was my motorcycle. Rather then boring you with all the details, in summary, I'm changing the clutch from the foot pedal to a hand clutch lever. In principal, and on paper, it looks fairly simple. Take the clutch cable off, disassemble and remove the foot clutch pedal, put the new hand clutch lever on, and attach the clutch cable. Boom. Done.
However:
- I have to borrow or buy tools to do it
- the first clutch lever I ordered didn't arrive
- i had to make my own nipple to fit the lever
- the hole I made to fit the oversized cable wasn't big enough
- I lost the nipple and had to make another one
- the cable wire won't stay in the nipple I made
So now I've borrowed a soldering iron to solder it in the morning and hope I can guide it in, adjust and finally see if my attempt even works. Bright ideas...lots. Successful solutions...not so many.
On a much brighter note, last night I went again over to Huntsville to watch my nephew play hardball. It's his first year and it's a big learning curve. However, he finally connected with the ball last night for the first time and hit it well over first base. Although the outfield caught it, it was a shining moment celebrated by all. Each game he improves and enjoys it immensely.
Off to bed. Morning comes early. Gotta get this bike on the road as it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend. It's Poutinefest here this weekend so I'm sure that will take care of the dinner menu for me tomorrow.
Tomorrow is another day.
It's the way she goes...
